Can be used unmeasured in sets

Thanks to its narrow manufacturing tolerances, the precision-ground V-belt can also be used unmeasured in sets with multi-groove drives, as indicated by the suffix M=S (matched sets). The characteristic of equal length simplifies handling, avoids double storage and enables particularly smooth running - especially with multi-groove drives.

In addition, the optibelt TRUCK POWER MARATHON 2 M = S is particularly low-stretch and extremely wear-resistant; its service life is 40 to 60% longer than that of a standard belt. This enables economical and safe operation of trucks and buses.

Safety Tips

  • Please observe installation regulations and safety instructions supplied by the manufacturer of the car
  • Please only perform installation of the drive belts with special tools and a minimum exertion of force. The use of screwdrivers, crowbars or such tools is prohibited
  • Do not treat the control unit components with corrosive chemicals. Belts must not come into contact with oil or similar substances
  • Fill in the timing belt adhesive label legibly and attach it firmly in the engine compartment
  • If individual components are faulty, the other components must also be replaced

Storage

  • Store timing belts dry and at +15 to +25ºC.
  • Improper storage, e.g. exposure to oxygen, light, extreme temperatures or moisture, can change the physical properties and render the V-belt unusable
  • Until the V-belts are used, they should be stored in their original packaging and free of tension
  • Do not exceed a height of 300 mm when stacking the belts, otherwise deformation may occur

Please Note - The size of the belt should always be checked with original before purchasing. This is because sometimes different belts are used within the same model/engine variation when there is more than 1 type of alternator / air compressor / power steering pump / etc. used.
