Hex standard full nuts are the most widely used type of nut and are designed for use with anchors, bolts, screws, studs, threaded rods, and other externally threaded fasteners. “Hex” (hexagon) refers to their six-sided shape.

Galvanised is a dull greyish colour and rough in appearance. HDG products are used where a high level of corrosion resistance is required. HDG products are recommended for long term outdoor applications.
 
Note: galvanised nuts are typically paired with galvanised bolts to prevent uneven corrosion (called galvanic corrosion). Mixing them with non-coated or different metals can shorten their lifespan.
