Spring lock washers are flat washers that are cut and twisted into a slight spiral or corkscrew like shape.
  • When tightened, the washer flattens under load
  • If the bolt begins to loosen, the cut ends dig into both the bolt head and the contact surface
  • This biting action helps resist further rotation and loosening
  • They are widely used due to their simplicity and low cost
  • One of the most common and inexpensive types of locking washer.
