Hubo Washer - Nylon  - M5x10.7x3 (Box=200)

Also called a retaining washer, anti-loss washer, or captive washer. It is designed to hold a screw captive in a component so the screw cannot fall out when loosened or removed.

Applications

Common applications may include:

  • Electrical enclosures and switchgear
  • Machine guards and access covers
  • Equipment service panels
  • Control cabinets
  • Any assembly where losing screws during maintenance would be a problem.

Nylon is non-magnetic, non-conductive and chemically resistant (with limits).

Limitations:

  • Not suitable for high-load structural applications
  • Nylon provides lower tensile strength compared with carbon materials or stainless steel
  • Poor resistance against strong acids and strong oxidizing agents. 

Note: Nylon is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture, which can reduce its strength and stiffness while increasing flexibility. For permanent wet or marine environments, use a suitable metal fastener instead.
