How to use

1. Surface preparation — Cleaning

Before applying the threadlocker, degrease and clean the surfaces thoroughly. LOCTITE® SF 7063/7064 is recommended by Henkel for cleaning and degreasing prior to adhesive application.

2. Surface preparation — Activation

When curing is slower because of passive metals such as stainless steel, aluminium or plated metals, or when the temperature is below 5 °C, LOCTITE® SF 7649 activator can be used to increase cure speed.

3. Application

Apply the liquid threadlocker to the area where the threads will engage.

4. Through-hole applications

Insert the bolt and apply threadlocker to the exposed thread. Fit the nut and tighten to the specified torque.

5. Blind-hole applications

Apply the threadlocker into approximately the lower third of the blind hole.

6. Assembly

Assemble the components and tighten to the required torque. Where multiple bolts are being installed, bring them to the correct torque within the product's fixture period.

7. Disassembly

Disassemble using standard hand tools.

Service tip

For corroded or seized components where conventional disassembly is difficult, LOCTITE® LB 8040 Freeze and Release can be used.
